Insurance term
Aggregate Limit
An aggregate limit is the total amount your insurer will pay for all covered claims during a policy period, usually one year. Once you reach it, the policy won't pay more until it renews. It's different from a per-claim limit, which applies to each individual claim.
Why it matters
A business with several claims in one year can exhaust its aggregate limit and be left exposed for the rest of the term.
