Policy Limit

A policy limit is the most your insurer will pay for a covered loss. Once a claim reaches that limit, any remaining costs are yours to cover. Different coverages within a policy can each have their own limits.

Why it matters

If your limits are too low for your home, business, or assets, a big claim could leave you paying the difference yourself.
