Proof of insurance is documentation showing you carry active coverage — like an auto ID card, a declarations page, or a certificate of insurance. Different situations call for different forms of proof. It confirms coverage exists but isn't the full policy.
Why it matters
Utah requires proof of auto insurance when you drive or register a vehicle, and clients and lenders often ask for it too.
